A mid-term audit

The audit’s general goal is to assess the effectiveness and execution of the disability services provider’s systems.

The major goal of the midterm audit is to determine whether the provider has kept its management system up to date by meeting application criteria.

Verification audits

For sole proprietors or smaller organisations providing low-risk support to disability services members, a “verification” audit is necessary. These audits must be done every three years.

Auditors examine the documentation demonstrating how you fit into the disability services practice standards verification module.

Policies and procedures, supporting papers such as registers and report templates, and copies of staff qualifications and criminal history checks are examples of documentary proof.

1. Document examination

Auditors examine your paperwork like that described for the verification audit.

Finally, any failures or areas of concern are reported so you can begin working on them before stage 2.

2. Onsite assessment:

Unlike the verification audit, disability services providers providing high-risk support must conduct an onsite assessment, during which auditors will investigate the service delivery environment and any policy failings.

An audit of recertification

Every three years, the provider must undergo a Recertification audit. Not more than six months before the registration renewal date.

The initial Certification cycle lasts three years and begins on the date the registration is approved.
